Sustainable mobility

Since 2020, the university has been involved in the AGREMOB project, which aims to change people’s behaviour in terms of mobility, and is keen to promote sustainable mobility for coming to and getting around the campus.

A sustainable mobility plan for the University

After conducting a travelling behaviour survey and consulting the university community, La Rochelle Université drew up its sustainable mobility plan.

The action plan has four objectives:

  • Facilitating access to the campus by encouraging soft, sustainable and active mobility (walking, cycling, etc.);
  • Facilitating access to the campus by promoting public transport;
  • Limiting individual use of internal combustion engine cars (park-and-ride facilities, carsharing, etc.);
  • Promoting sustainable mobility for travel between different campuses.

Solutions implemented at the University

  • Free bike repair workshops for the entire university community organised every month on campus;
  • The Forfait Mobilité Durable (Sustainable Mobility Allowance), which has been in place since 2020 for employees, enables those who use bicycles or car sharing for their journeys to and from the university to receive an allowance of up to €300/year;
  • A map of soft mobility on campus is available to the entire university community;
  • An increase in the number of parking spaces for bicycles and scooters on campus is planned.

Transport services in the area

  • Public transport passes for students at €100/year (bus, regional trains, park-and-ride facilities, etc.). Illico lines 3 and 4 run regularly through the campus (about every 10 minutes);
  • Yélo self-service bicycle stations near every university building;
  • Car sharing between your home and campus is supported: enjoy free journeys when you are a passenger and financial support from the Conurbation when you are a driver.
